When a member school district contracts with MASB, an experienced, qualified labor relations consultant is ready to assist your district's labor relations needs, including collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, fact-finding, MERC hearings and other labor board proceedings.

You can have the MASB team review your current contract and provide a brief written summary of major points for consideration, major cost centers, comparisons to other contracts and an establishment of priorities for change. As part of this service, an MASB consultant will meet with a team from your district to explain and discuss their analysis.

The goal of MASB's Labor Relations Department is to provide high-quality labor relations services to Michigan's public schools without the high charges of profit-oriented firms. MASB's Labor Relations Department sponsors a full-day workshop every first quarter of the calendar year. This workshop provides board members with timely information on pertinent labor relations topics.

MASB’s experienced legal counsel provides board members and superintendents information regarding current school law, recent court decisions and Attorney General opinions. Typically offered virtually for back-to-school.

Every district should have received a giveaway selection form through email. These were sent to Superintendent Assistants. We want boards to determine collectively how to use these funds, so we encourage collaborative conversations, and when you've made decisions, ask your Superintendent Assistant to complete the form accordingly.

NO! If you've selected tickets, we want to make sure that you reserve your seat, so it's important that you register and pay for events like usual. You can register during the open registration period for each event.

For customized services like strategic planning, labor negotiations, contract review, and customized workshops, we'll reach out to collect more information and to work out details of the service and payment.

You're receiving up to $750 in discounted services and event registrations for select MASB offerings. You will need to pay at the time of service/registration. At the end of the fiscal year (summer 2025) you will receive your rebate check for funds that you used toward the services you selected.

A number of MASB's services are covered through MDE's reimbursement program. For that reason, these services are not included as part of the giveaway program.
