Are you looking for support for your school safety programs? Look no further than our own Michigan State Police.
The Michigan State Police (MSP), Office of School Safety (OSS) is committed to delivering quality services to schools throughout Michigan through a variety of resources, including grants, training videos, e-learning opportunities and the statewide Okay2Say program.
Most recently, The MSP Office of School Safety announced the release of five school safety videos promoting safer learning environments. Each video lasts approximately one minute and is a valuable resource focusing on topics such as emergency operation plans, behavioral threat assessment and management, physical security, OK2SAY - Michigan’s Student Safety tip line, and other key components to creating safe school environments.
If you need additional funding, SchoolSafety.gov has a grants finder tool to help centralize federally available school safety-related grant opportunities in one place for school community members to access.
You can search for grants in three ways—taking a quiz, searching through prepopulated lists or utilizing filter features to narrow down grants by specific criteria. Currently, opportunities are listed around mental health, cybersecurity, threat assessment and reporting, emergency planning and more. As more grants become available, they are added to the database.
