Customized, OnSight Training Modules

Our Customized, OnSight Services Meet the Demands of Urban, Suburban and Rural Boards

Board Self-Evaluation Assessment

  • After board members individually complete a self-assessment instrument, our professional and experienced facilitators analyze, summarize and prepare a written report of the findings.
  • The board and facilitator develop a plan of action for improvement.
  • MASB follows up with training or material for implementing your action plan.

Conflict Resolution

  • Boards routinely make decisions and problem solve solutions, and regularly face the added challenge of managing conflict.
  • MASB offers you a workshop that introduces proven and reliable decision-making and problem solving models of success.
  • We acquaint you with the necessary skills and processes for effective management of conflict, both internally and externally.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • MASB offers an interactive workshop for your leadership team struggling with a clear definition of their roles. This workshop is perfect for your new board members!
  • By the end of the workshop, board members have a clear understanding of their role and how best to perform their duties in an effective and productive manner.

Meeting Management

  • Make your meetings more efficient and productive. Learn the do’s and don’ts of meeting management and make the most of everyone’s valuable time.
  • Review agendas, the role of the board chair, parliamentary procedure, code of conduct, effective communication techniques and much more.

Goal Setting

  • Have the goals you’ve established for your district lacked relevance to the district’s shared vision? Do your goals just sit-on-a-shelf with no concrete progression?
  • MASB leads your board through the very important process of setting and realizing measurable goals that inspire direction, progress and solid action and results.

Team Building

  • Team building training is available to boards interested in developing skills to promote effective and productive teams.
  • Boards learn about team leadership, trust, communication, problem solving, conflict management and decision-making.

Board/Superintendent Relations

  • When the relationship between the school board and superintendent works, almost any challenge can be met and overcome. Conversely, when superintendent/board relationships are not on solid ground, students and the community will feel the negative impact.
  • This workshop, specifically designed for board/superintendent teams, will provide the opportunity to share expectations of one another and to discuss guiding principles toward effective board/superintendent teams.

Community Connections

  • This workshop outlines the communication strategies needed to build trust and gain the community’s support for critical school improvement initiatives.
  • Learn how to pass bond elections and manage school closures.
