   SGTP

  • Does your district want to improve its governance leadership?
  • Do you have challenges that result in a disconnected governance team?
  • If your district's test scores, dropout rates, enrollment and community engagement are declining, the SGTP process may be right for your district.

The Systemic Governance Training Process (SGTP) is an approach to assist boards in becoming a cohesive, high performing governance team that can see the "big picture" and be proactive, not reactive, to potential threats and challenges. Improving student achievement isn't all about performance and test scores. It's also about communication, trust leadership, vision, understanding roles and responsibilities, quality relationships and keeping the focus on students--not adults. Research proves that there are links between what school boards do and the achievement of students.

Districts are experiencing declining enrollment, fiscal uncertainties, operating losses and low stakeholder involvement. In the current environment where districts are challenged to do more with scare resources, effective governance is the only way to focus on critical priorities that fulfill the mission of a quality educational program for all students.

SGTP includes a custom audit of your governance model to determine the training and data necessary to improve performance and outcomes. Improved outcomes are endless, but districts will benefit with an improved board culture, cohesive team, trust and mutual accountability, renewed focus on student achievement and many more short- and long-term advantages.
